I think JoPa would have looked at the ACC like the Big East.

He would have thought that the ACC was a Basketball Conference. With FSU and Miami not in the ACC yet, we pretty much were a basketball conference. And at the end of the 80s, I don't know how interested he would have been on joining a Southern Conference. It's more acceptable today than 30 years ago.

He's not around to ask, but I think he'd probably select the B1G anyway at the time. He's no longer around to ask though.
